DotNetNuke is an open source web content management system based on Microsoft .Net. It was written in*VB.NET though the developer has shifted to*C# since version 6.0. The software is intended to allow management of websites without much technical language. Skins can be used to change the look of a website using DotNetNuke. There are two commercial editions of the software with increased functionality compared to the community edition and technical support. Its Professional Edition was launched in February 2009 with version 4.9 and the most recent version 5.6 was released in November 2010. As of January 2011, the DotNetNuke application has been downloaded over 6 million times.
